Modular Electronic Computer Rack
Material Type/Thickness:
Aluminum, Galvaneal, Plastic
Notes:
This rack and all of its components were designed and are currently built and assembled at Chapco, Inc.
Process (Rack):
Aluminum sheet metal sides and brackets of varying thickness are laser cut, bent and black anodized.
The aluminum bars are purchased by Chapco, sent to our outside vendor for machining and then to our plater to be black anodized.
Plastic card guides are purchased from a local outside vendor.
The Galvaneal cross brackets are laser cut, formed on our press brakes and tapped at Chapco, Inc.
Card guides get fitted to the galvaneal rails, which are then fastened to the black anodized aluminum components.
Process (Modules):
The individual modules come in 2 possible shapes and slide on the plastic card guides into the rack. The sides are made from .040" thick. aluminum and are punched in our CNC turret where a special thread loop tool is used, allowing the silkscreened face plate to be screwed to it.
