Harvesting daylight for indoor use is not new. Harvesting daylight economically is new.

The result of American ingenuity, the Sunshine is an integrated, patented product with worldwide applications. Sunshine systems are rugged, leak free, through-the-roof luminaries that collect sunlight through a prismatic roof-top lens that directs it downward. The sunlight is diffused and distributed into the interior space as cool comfortable light.

The design and construction of the Sunshine products has evolved over the past ten years in active use at a wide range of facilities. The project list covers schools, offices, super markets, military bases, warehouses, wineries and retail.

Over three years ago Chapco was presented with concepts and a prototype of the first Sunshine. Excited about the potential of developing such and energy saving lighting solution we examined the principles behind the prototype that made it successful, then looked to improve the product for productivity, "weather detection technology" and ease of installation.

Today Chapco still manufactures this fantastic product in our Connecticut facilities. See the Sunshine in action in the images below.
